The USB 3.0 Specification has been officially announced. It has the rate of 4.8 Gbit/s (600 MB/s), and will dump a 25GB HD file in about 70 seconds. Unfortunately, your old USB cables will not works on this, you will need to buy the USB 3.0 cable which have extra pins. You will see this around sometime in 2010. That¡¯s about a year plus to go.
